Frequently Asked Questions

How early should I arrive for my flight?

Each airline has a different recommendation for arrival times to airports. Since it is the airline that will determine if a passenger is allowed to board the plane, we recommend checking with your specific airline for their arrival recommendation. Generally speaking, it is a more enjoyable travel experience to arrive early rather than risk missing your flight, so when in doubt, arrive early.

No. Please do not park in front of the terminal. Vehicles left unattended at the terminal curb will be ticketed and/or towed at the owner’s expense. The first 15 minutes in all parking areas are free and you can wait for arriving passengers in the cell phone lot.

No.  All passenger parking at Dane County Regional Airport is on a first come, first served basis.  Numerous third-party apps and websites claim to offer parking reservations for airport parking.  This is not accurate.  Dane County Regional Airport does not partner with any third-party service for parking reservations and strongly condemns their misleading tactics and false claims.  We encourage our passengers to always use our parking webpage for the most up to date information about parking rates and availability.

Taxis and car rentals are available at the north end of the terminal outside door 7 which is adjacent to the baggage claim.

Please check with the airline that issued the ticket prior to your travel date and when you arrive at the terminal for the flight.

The federal government has delayed the implementation of REAL ID many, many times.

At some point in the future, every air traveler 18 years of age and older will need a REAL ID-compliant driver’s license or identification card, state-issued enhanced driver’s license, or another TSA-acceptable form of identification at airport security checkpoints for domestic air travel.

For more information and the current timeline regarding REAL ID, please visit www.dhs.gov/real-id.
